Hydrated Lime

Chemical formula: Ca(OH)2

Hydrated Lime or Calcium Hydroxide, is also called Slaked Lime, is a colourless crystal or white powder obtained by the action of water on Calcium Oxide.

CaO + H 2 OCa (OH)2

It is essential for Quicklime to be slaked in a controlled setting because it can generate heat that reaches up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Since Calcium Hydroxide, or Hydrated Lime, is already neutralised, so it will not undertake oxidation and can be used with water, for water pH control and soil rehabilitation and more.

There are different terms used in different industry for Hydrated Lime, i.e. Builders' Lime, Pickling Lime, etc.
